Why This Matters
Buildings contribute about 75% of DC's total emissions. Residential buildings account for a third of that. Electrifying our homes is essential to achieving climate goals, yet many residents can't find qualified contractors who understand sustainable technology.
We’re bridging this gap with a tool that:
- Connects homeowners with qualified and trusted contractors
- Shares localized info on rebates and incentives
- Unlocks IRA workforce funding and training opportunities
Our Impact
A contractor finder tool was identified as one of the top three barriers to residential decarbonization. Civic Tech DC’s open-source solution will empower similar efforts nationwide - making it easier, faster, and more affordable for people to begin their electrification journey.
